Liminal Space 2014 Minnesota State Arts Board Exhibition
These small studies began as an exercise to capture a distillation of Lake Superior in three brushstrokes or less. The paintings were completed in the morning and in the evening.
I began with a white or charcoal gessoed surface and painted with black and white Flashe vinyl paint. Most days I was able to stick to my brushstroke limit, other days I felt the need to keep adding, coming close to the point of overworking.
